Jesus, God’s perfect son, came into this world to seek and save those who were broken, rebellious, guilty and dead in their sins. Through Jesus’ death on a cross, we receive forgiveness of our sins. Through Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, we receive new life. This is our hope and it is good news because this is not earned as we try harder, but received as a gift that flows out of God’s great love towards us.
Resurrection Presbyterian Church exists to gather people in and around Athens into a worshipping community that proclaims the good news that Jesus is our only hope; and to grow together in our love for and service to God, one another, our neighbors and the world.
Resurrection Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, and we hold to the historic Christian beliefs as summarized in the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Belgic Confession, the Canons of Dort, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Westminster Standards.
